Topaz Café in Burr Ridge is a trendy dining spot serving delicious delights in a chic non-pretentious atmosphere. I’ve dined at Topaz numerous times and each time my experience and the cuisine exceeds my previous visit. This last visit, there was a small group of 8 with 4 of them being Topaz virgins. Our waitress, Cindy gave us impeccable service along with a great dining experience that you just can’t find everywhere.
We started with a round of appetizers including grilled octopus, poached prawns, fried calamari and poached pears. The grilled octopus was the favorite of the table. Not being a huge seafood person, even I enjoyed it. We also ordered sides of mushroom risotto for the table which had a great flavor. Even the pickiest of eaters will enjoy the mushroom risotto.
For the main course, the braised short rib is a must. Even if you’re not a huge meatitarian, encourage someone at the table to order this mouthwatering selection; be sure he or she is willing to share. Majority of the table ordered either the braised short rib or the special of the evening, Caribbean jerk pork loin. Neither dish disappointed the table.
Everything was just too delicious to stop there; therefore, brownies, cheesecake and carrot cake was our dessert selection. The carrot cake won’t disappoint and if you love chocolate, the brownies are a gooey chocolate rich treat.
If you’re looking for ambience, impeccable service and great food this is your place. Topaz Cafe is perfect for a romantic evening and group dinners. I can’t wait for warmer weather to dine on their beautiful patio.
